Hello! My name is Alexa and I have been a teacher since 2005. I taught in 2 different school districts full time. All professional experience has been in grades 5, 6, and 7 servicing students in special education with varying diagnoses and learning differences. Currently, I am a substitute teacher and have been in many grades, some general education classes and some work in different special education models. I am certified in MA and RI as a special educator for grades Pre-K-8 and as an Elem.

I am an Secondary Education and History major at the University of Rhode Island. My academic specialization is in middle school and high school levels. I have had experience teaching and tutoring in various subjects, although I am most passionate about history and writing. Every child deserves a chance to succeed, and I find that our school systems sometimes do not individualize education enough. I am offering a tutoring service that allows students to discover their strengths and weaknesses.

I am an experienced instructor of English as a Foreign Language as well as a high school English teacher. I received a B.A. degree in English Literature from Boston University, have taken numerous graduate level courses in eduction, and completed a Teacher Certification program at Rhode Island College. While I have worked full time as an ESL teacher, I really love to work with students one on one. I find this to be a wonderful way to connect with students and I can structure my lessons to whate.
