Dear Student,During my career in teaching, I have individually tutored many students. My style of tutoring varies by how the individual learns best. I have used computer software to teach different skills to students who are mainly visual learners. Often, I have put my computer image up on a large projector screen. I have demonstrated how software programs like MS Office, Adobe Flash, Adobe Dreamweaver, and many other well known programs by walking students through exercises that demonstrate.

I love spending time hanging out with children and youth. As an ordained Presbyterian minister- and in my current career role as a Foster Care Counselor- one of my favorite things to do is to help others learn how to embrace all of life’s opportunities. Those opportunities often begin with education and understanding how much fun learning can be! I’ve taught both pre-school and high school, directed a large child care program and worked with children, youth and young adults in countless educa.

I am certified in all subjects grades 1st through 8th. I have taught in two private schools. I have completed the college courses for add-on certification in early childhood and SPED but have not taken the state tests yet. I enjoy working one on one or in small groups. I feel students get the most benefit from my teaching experience when I work with students individually. I am in the process of applying to colleges in order to to complete my masters in SPED..

I have always been dedicated to learning. I personally love it and have taught many people about acting and theater. Since graduating from The Bilingual Secretarial College in London, England, I have wanted to use the French language in work and to promote the French language and culture in a positive and gentle way. I know that it is not easy to learn another language and to become fluent it is necessary to work hard and to practice and to seek out that culture in all aspects in order to obt.

For two and a half years while I was a college student, I was privileged with the opportunity to tutor in the Writing Center on campus. I worked with other students, many of them international students, and I assisted them in their essays, editing, and basic grammar needs. Of all the job experiences I’ve had, this one has by far been one of the most fulfilling. I love the English language, and I love grammar, and I am so grateful that I have the opportunity and experience to share that love with.
