I have taken a round-about route to arrive at teaching. After working as a lawyer and later a hair stylist, I was blessed with the opportunity to teach speech at Calhoun. I loved teaching so much I returned to graduate school at UAHuntsville to get my master’s degree in English, a task I completed in December 2011. I currently work as an adjunct instructor at Columbia State Community College in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. While I love being in the classroom, one of my favorite parts of my job is as.

Professionally, I worked as a substitute teacher, taught adoption and foster parenting classes, and life skills to young parents. Personally, I have taught Sunday School and Bible Study. I am a proponent of experiential learning. I have fifteen years experience as a social service professional and five years experience as a therapist. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Educational Psychology, which has prepared me to tea.

I recently graduated from Troy University, Cum Laude, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. My primary instrument during this time was piano, and I had scholarships for piano, voice, and leadership roles within the music community at Troy University. I have composed and premiered my own works for band and choir settings, and have had several students experience much success in their musical endeavors through my lessons with them. I enjoy teaching all styles of music, and believe that ever.
