I was hired by the Milwaukee Public School District as a Reading First intervention teacher to provide struggling readers in grades K-3rd grade with additional support and instruction. I administered both formal and informal assessments, determined students’ instructional needs, and designed lessons to help students grow as readers. During this time, I helped teachers implement research-based best practices in the five areas of reading identified under the Reading First grant.Now I am teac.
