I have been teaching English Composition and Introduction to Literature Courses since 1994 at community colleges in New England, and one university in Detroit. I generally prefer to tutor one-on-one with students, giving them advice on how to improve their reading and writing skills. My focus in tutoring tends to be more on the process of reading and writing. I suggest methods for better reading comprehension such as keeping a reader’s journal or taking notes, and methods for improving writin.
